My Story
My name is Jordan Karns. I'm originally from Bakersfield, CA and moved to Kings Beach, CA summer of 2014. I met my wife at Sierra Summit Ski Resort in 2007 working as lifties. Her being a J1 from Chile and myself from Bakersfield, CA proved to be a challenge but our love for each other and the mountains has created an unbreakable bond. We were married at Bucks Beach in 2015 and have two boys both born in Truckee. I have worked the Tahoe Dream from running chairlifts at 3 local resorts, parks seasonal for 5 seasons with the TCPUD and drove/assistant managed Mountaineer from 2018-2021. In 2020 I suffered a life changing cervical and lumbar injury that led to uncertain employment, multiple surgeries and years of recovery which I still deal with today. I turned to woodworking as a hobby/ therapy during my surgery recoveries and this has allowed me to live again and to start my own business in 2024. I''ve accepted my new life and will continue to work hard to leave a legacy for our two young sons.
